The perspective of NIOZ: Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research

We had the chance to spend a few hours onboard the Aldebaran and the wonderful people that make up the Sailing for Impact team. Using the Open Method, we went through eye-opening conversations over important topics such as the role of sustainable solutions within society, the importance (or not!) of academia in tackling 21st century challenges and the role of the arts in creating a balanced world. Being on the boat added a feeling of being part of the crew, working together and sharing enthusiasm for everything relating to the marine sphere. Representing NIOZ and early career scientists, it was a pleasure to have been included in such a promising mission. All the best wishes to the crew for the coming sailing days!
